And if people would support me in my endeavors. So I would love to know if people would want this mod. Most of my Skyrim modding has been withheld because I didn't think it was good enough to put out there, and other people wouldn't like it, or heavily dependent on other mods. I have a lot of ideas, most which I probably won't be able to implement, but I would love to hear people's opinions, ideas, especially regarding the technical aspects of this. Or at least have him go on an extended mission to Cyrodiil.

Also I might kill Brynjolf to make way for a custom character so his voice doesn't suddenly change when this mod starts. And maybe you could have a leveling system to make certain thieves in certain places more susceptible to getting caught. Maybe thieves might get caught and you would have to rescue them. And then members of the Guild would receive these jobs and pursue them. But that's all fluff the main game play mechanic I would start to work on would be a ability/spell/quill & scroll to mark items to steal, or pre-raided dungeons to loot. And of course upgrading the Riften hideout to be a bit more fitting of master thieves. And because of this increase of members you would need to add headquarters in other major holds. Or maybe more people would try to join the guild. To get an improvement job, talk to Delvin Mallory or Vex you can have one quest active from each. But what I hate is becoming the head of the Thieves Guild, restoring peace and balance with the skeleton key, and then doing nothing! A few thoughts: organizing heists, raids, recruitment, expansion of guild influence, or finding a better home (Not a dirty sewer in Riften!) So I thought of a few things like being able to take a group of thieves somewhere and making them stand guard, or scout the area, means of recruiting (probably pre-made) NPC's to add the guild. In order to restore the Thieves Guild to its former glory and assume the title of Guild Master, you must perform small jobs in four holds of Skyrim: Haafingar, the Reach, Whiterun, and Eastmarch. Otherwise you can skip this short quest by console commanding to the next quest ( No Corpse, No Case) by entering "setstage DwarfSphereQ03 5" (without quotation marks). So I love stealth Dark Brotherhood, Thieves Guild, Nightingales, etc. The problematic dialogue can be edited out by deleting the dialogue topic, "You look like you could use some help." in TCBM.esp with the SSEEdit program. The mod "Thieves Guild for Good Guys" (currently version 3.9) also contains extra dialogue options that conflict with this quest line.

But for simplicity's sake, just disable AFT, go back into the game to get the dialogue from Shanath to start this quest, then you can just reenable AFT after. (Not a bug, rather some mod will be causing conflict) If for some reason you are unable to find any new dialogue from Shanath that asks "Have any work for me?" (or something) to begin the next mainquest - it has been reported that the likely culprit is the mod "AFT", which is likely an issue with your own load order. Varen is the other person who bids for you at the auction.
